Munten vertellen eveneens verhalen over vroeger.
Uitgelicht: Cuba INTUR 1 Peso 1981

Chung Yeung: a Chinese tradition with a view!
This week at CollectAndMore we celebrate the Chinese Chung Yeung Festival, also known as the Double Ninth Festival. It is celebrated on the ninth day of the ninth month of the Chinese lunar calendar and is about respect for the elderly, remembering ancestors and spending time together.
A special tradition is climbing hills and mountains. Families head out, enjoy the autumn scenery and visit the graves of their ancestors. Chrysanthemums are part of the festival too: these flowers add colour to the celebration and are traditionally used in chrysanthemum wine.
Coins also tell stories of the past. From special symbols to historical figures, a coin from China or Taiwan brings a small piece of history to your collection.
To mark Chung Yeung, we are offering 10% off all coins from China and Taiwan from October 10 through October 17, 2026.
Fortunately you do not have to climb a mountain for this discount, just take a stroll through our collection!
This week we are adding a batch of around 80 coins from 40 countries. There are a few not so common "RARE" coins among the new offer.
Featured: Cuba INTUR 1 Peso 1981
On offer this week is the Cuba INTUR 1 Peso 1981. On Numista the Rarity index is 64 (0 to 100). This is the extremely rare 1981 variant, without the "1". The official and rare 1981 INTUR coin has no numeral "1" on the reverse (the side with the palm tree), only the text INTUR and UN PESO.
Why is it considerably more expensive than the other years? It is a so-called key date of the INTUR series (tourist money). Very few were struck at the time, so the catalogue value (and the selling price at specialist coin dealers) rises to hundreds of euros (sometimes 250 to 300+ euros).
The very common 1989 variant has exactly the same Morro Castle design, but this version does have a large numeral "1" on the reverse (next to the palm tree). It was struck in huge numbers and can often be found on platforms such as eBay for 2 to 5 euros.
Will you help us test our auction site?
Last week we invited you to test our new auction site, which we plan to launch soon. As a thank you, the first five testers who sign up receive a test voucher for 20% off their first auction purchase. Interested? Send an e-mail to cloud@coinsandmore.nl.
Enjoy discovering the new additions, and do not forget: sometimes the special lies in a tiny detail!

Interesse?
