An aluminium 5 Lire of the Italian Republic, struck at the Rome Mint in 1994 — the year Italy hosted the FIFA World Cup and reached the final. With a mintage of just 1,000,000, this is a scarce late-issue date in the 5 lire series.

Obverse: A rudder, evoking Italy's long maritime tradition. Legend REPVBBLICA ITALIANA with designer's name ROMAGNOLI. Engraved by Pietro Giampaoli.

Reverse: Denomination 5 to the left of the date, above a leaping dolphin.
