An aluminium 10 Lire of the Italian Republic, struck at the Rome Mint in 1982 — the year Italy won the FIFA World Cup in Spain. A wonderful piece of Italian numismatic history from a momentous year.
Obverse: A plough. Legend REPVBBLICA ITALIANA above, date 1982 and mintmark R below. Designed by Giuseppe Romagnoli, engraved by Pietro Giampaoli.
Reverse: Two ears of wheat flanking the denomination 10, with designer's name ROMAGNOLI below.
