S22-C01-0001-M39 Italy 50 lire UNC 1990 KM95.2 no diamond
A scarce variety of the Italian 50 Lire (small type), struck at the Rome Mint in 1990. This is the Type B "no diamond" variety — distinguishable by the absence of the diamond (dot) separator between REPVBBLICA and ITALIANA on the obverse. Collectors specifically seek out this variety, as it is scarcer than the standard Type A issue.
Obverse: Female head facing right, with an oak wreath in her hair. Legend REPVBBLICA ITALIANA with the engravers' names ROMAGNOLI GIAMPAOLI INC. below — designed by Giuseppe Romagnoli, engraved by Pietro Giampaoli.
Reverse: Vulcan, the Roman god of fire and the forge, striking iron on an anvil — a powerful symbol of Italian industry and craftsmanship. Denomination L.50 and date to the right, mintmark R below.
